The breakfast was particularly good, with many food options and the staff was exceptional.

All of the staff were very attentive. Booked a room for heating. There was lots of food for breakfast, including croissants, toast, cereals and muffins.
Some people working there were a little rude.

Stunningly beautiful hotel in a local area, walking distance to pubs and cafes. Spacious rooms and exceptionally comfortable beds. Large bathroom, and central heating, multi-channel television and ironing facilities. Great location to get to a theater and a castle located walking distance to the venue. Only 15 minutes walking to the city centre...

Best of all, staff, who allowed us to leave the bags after checkout until 3am without the 10 pound charge. on the whole, they were always very kind to us, at all times. As for the room, I would highlight the bed, was very comfortable and slept beautifully, welcome basket with coffee, water, cookies and chips. TV was fine and although the room was small, it was nice, cosy and clean. I would also point out that we did not hear any noise from other rooms; we went to breakfast we were surprised by the amount of people who were staying and yet we were not aware because we did not hear anything, is very positive. situation of the hotel is very good because you are 10 minutes away from Waverley bridge but at the same time you are in a very quiet area.
The only downside I could say is that the room was quite small and consequently I got some cookies in the corners of the closets and bed, but it's also because I'm a bit clumsy. At breakfast, I missed the sausages and mushrooms that I like so much from the scottish breakfast

location is very good because you are close to both the old and new city and tram to the airport is a 10 minute walk away. room is very well decorated and amenities and basket of teas and coffees are appreciated. bed and pillow are comfortable, clean and have plenty of electrical outlets. the staff, nice. Perfect WIFI.
room and bathroom are very small, pretty tight for two people, I can't say I was surprised either. teas and stuff they offer in the room don't replenish them. Some little detail of lack of maintenance. Having to pay to leave the suitcase after the check-out doesn't please anyone, well, it's a pound a bag. water is so hot that the steam set off the fire alarm. Mind you, there's a warning sign.

What I liked the most was the location, it is in a quiet place and very central, you do not hear any noise. Also the room was very big, especially with a floor of platform that is to be thanked because I hate the carpets. Another detail that I loved is the welcome basket that they leave you in the room, it had cookies, teas, coffees, milk, a kettle, cocoa powder, some little cups for each one. In the closet there were two hair dryers which is also grateful since we were three girls. The bathroom was very, very clean and quite large.
The only thing I liked was that when we left our bags to be stored until our plane left we were charged one pound per bag, normally in all the hotels I have been both in Spain and outside it nuencha have charged me nothing for leaving the bags. For everything else it's a hotel of 10.

Location
Mistake to book this hotel. It's not what it claimed - 3 star hotel? I've seen better hotels for the same rate. Does not deserve it's rating for sure. Was given a basement room and go through 5 doors before getting to room. No mini bar (not that I use it) for a 3 star hotel and room looks aged. Not to mention the male front counter staff was unfriendly and glum when checking in and could only manage with one or two phrases response. Disappointing indeed for a '3 star' hotel. Just one star at the most. Would not recommend.

The price vrs. quality was very good. Double bed with one mattress was exactly how we ordered.
The room carpet was extremely dirty. Otherwise the room was clean and the bathroom was new.

The shortbread was a very nice touch. It was nice to come in to the room after our flight and have something to snack on.
The walls were a bit thin, but that only really mattered when there was a loud talker next door.

The noise insulation was severely lacking between rooms!!! Not to mention the inconvenient room layouts, made maneuvering difficult. Plus, the shower design caused water to leak everywhere, definitely a hassle !!!
